Best flooring for wet areas
Of course if we can help our floors getting wet then we will, but sometimes we just can’t help it. If you’re aware that your flooring is going to get wet frequently and want to plan ahead for it then here is a short article on how you can and what flooring materials work best for water on the floor. Kitchens and bathrooms are the most water prone areas in the home and the flooring in these rooms varies from other areas of the house generally for this reason. Tiles are commonly used in both kitchens and bathrooms, both porcelain and ceramic, as they are extremely water resistant, the weakest point with tiles is not the material but the grout that seals the tiles together. Concrete is also an extremely water resistant material, but not the most homely of flooring materials. Vinyl flooring can also work really well in water prone areas as it is water resistant and can come in a wide variety of colours and styles, making it adaptable for both bathrooms and kitchens, getting the look you want for your home while keeping the practicality of the material.
